Description says it was bought new in 88 and never run. 582 with what looks like a B drive. I know you can't swing a giant prop with a B drive but I was  thinking this might be a good core for a rotax rick 670? Going to be pulling that Volkswagen off of my a model avid  and doing a 670. What do you guys think.?

I think I would get the engine gone through to make sure it's all good inside, and get new seals installed in the process, and run it on your Avid.  A 582 on a light A model would perform very well.  JImChuk

Jim,

My Volkswagen is bolted on to the firewall, I'm sure it's nowhere near a 582 pattern. So I'm positive I'm going to have to do some fabricating to that engine mount. Should I just pick up a 582 engine mount and make it work?

That seems like the best choice to me.  The mount will also work for the 670 if you go that route.  JImChuk
