Next add your name / details with the red circled button. (If you would like a custom pin click the orange circled button)

Some browsers will allow adding a photo as well

Use the green circled button to view a list of names.  When you view another member be careful not to delete or edit their pin!

Also be caerful not to delete the layer or trash the map when you have the legend open!!

Post up with your name and town if you have tried really hard and are having trouble and I'll try to add you in when I have time.

Log out of your google account, then try it.  I see the userid in the URL, probably won't let me in since I'm not logged in to your account.

You need to get the link from 'share or embed map', not the URL bar.

Yeah I did use the share link function in what I posted here.  But this is the first time I've created a map like this.  Maybe there is a better way?

Something didn't work right then, because when I do a shared map the link is pretty simple, none of the stuff like in your link.

Here is an example of what I get when I use the 'share' option

Some know I am in the middle of WVa so I tried once to get to the map but failed miserably so I quit.

Yeah Mark it sure makes no difference to me what map we use.  But others have been able to post off my link, here's a screenshot of the current map:

Well, that's good, I wasn't trying to replace yours, just get one that works.  Weird that it won't work for me with Chrome - nothing should be more compatible with google maps than Chrome!  Maybe that's the problem, it honors all the security features where others don't.

I just tried it with Microsoft Edge, and it works fine with it.  How bizarre!  Still doesn't work with Chrome.

Got it to work in Chrome.  I had to open it in Edge, copy the link that it changed to in Edge to Chrome, which brought it up in 'view only' mode, then selected edit and I was able to add myself.  Still going to report it to Google - tell them Microsoft does it better than they do! :lmao:

I put a mark and my name down, but I do not know how you got the little airplane symbol

After you set the mark, and change the name with the edit (pencil), the first icon that looks like a paint can let's you change the style - color and icon mainly
