Hi All,

I have a 1999 Avid Flyer Heavy Hauler. Does any one have the answer for what is the maximum speed that I can start using the flaperon ?.

Thanks

Wayne.

The flaps is like the doors, not over 100 km/h (60 mph). But in any case, the faster you fly the less flaps you want - you can even gain some speed with negative flaps, but be careful as this can be a dangerous area.

I don't pull any flaps unless I am below 80 mph, and full flaps probably closer to 60 and below.  I saw a zenith with bent flaperon hangers because the pilot pulled flaps above 80, so it not only is hard, it must put some real strain on things.
