I just looked at your settings.. Nothing that would prevent you from posting pics and nothing has been changed on this end since the last picture you posted. What kind of error message are you getting??

The picture (attachment) seems to load, but it just sits there with the scroll bar complete, but the "thinking" arrows still going. I left it go for almost an hour (!) last evening thinking it was just a slow connection...

The first photo loaded fine, but the next ones didn't. Is there a max photo size (100KB or something)?

Max attachement size is something like 24 MB. I have issues on a slow connection also at times. Try it again and let me know what happens!

This shot shows the truss with bungees removed ready to start the repair.

Doug, it's bad enough I have an iPhone now. Don't start on the Apple computer schmidt now... :tumbleweed:

Yessir, that there truss is definitely pranged. :(

Actually looks a bit worse than I imagined at OSH. As they say, covering can hide a multitude of sins, but I'm pleased to hear she's all patched up and none the worse for wear. Curious how long your safety cables were and if you felt them bottom? Do you think longer cables might have prevented or saved some of the damage? I've read some guys don't even install them, though that would seem not too bright IMHO. Perhaps there is a happy medium?

On a lighter (well, at 220#, maybe not) note, glad my fat butt wasn't in the right seat. :BC:

P.S. Actually, I do own an iPhone and a few Apple shares, but I never did warm up to those dang MACs. AppleFanBoi?!... NOT!

Ya know, I kinda like your combination seat truss and control stick / torque tube cover setup. I made a soft cover that attached to the truss on my KF-III, but always felt like boot covers for the sticks was a good idea too. The thought of something jamming in the control stick / torque tube mechanisms at an inopportune time is not a warm fuzzy. Your setup nails two birds with one stone, I may try something similar with lexan for quick 'n easy pre-flight inspection.

Doug - What's to inspect? Use plywood. It's lighter and cheaper. ;)

Inserting the new material.

The finished product. Here she is on the scales.

Since we all know that the bungee gear is shit, I used the Grove gear from my project plane and installed it on my flyer. Holy cow!!! What a difference in the brakes alone, much less the ground handling. Now all I need is a set of 8.50 x 6.00 tires to bring the AOA back to where it needs to be...

post-36-13143258844943_thumb.jpg

For the record, she only gained 8 (eight) pounds on the empty weight.

putting the grove gear in is cheating hahahaha. But if ya had it laying there it would have been dumber to not put it on!
