Silver Salmon Creek

These pictures are from July so they are a little old but it has been a busy, great summer. Got 95 hours on the Avid+ so far (I should have done better but hunting got in the way!)

Flew to Silver Salmon Creek this summer with a couple of Supercubs; had some great fishing among the local populationunsure.gif . It made camping interesting to say the least. I understand that this is some of Leni's old stomping grounds.

We ended up with 8 planes camping on the beach. Perfect weather, good food and good company! You can't beat thatbirthdayfriends.gif

The Silvers were just showing up but the stream was packed with dolly's and Chums. Found out that the bears are very good at clamming as well as fishing. Fortunately for us they were also well behaved. We had enough firepower that we would probably all have been killed and the planes full of holes if there had been any trouble.

Great pics Randy! The island in the last picture was where I spent my first 20 summers. We flew, boated and hiked all over the Tuxidney bay area down to Chinitna Bay up to the Polly creek flats. I have a few spots I have not fished in almost 20 yrs, but I am sure they are just as productive as they were back then. Hopefully next summer I will be able to give work the big finger for a full two weeks at a time and get to enjoy some plane camping and fishing!

It is a pretty amazing place down there Leni; I look forward to doing that trip again. Hopefully Jack will be in the air by next summer and we can all meet up for a few good camping adventures around the state.

I look forward to some more outings this winter when the water gets hard. First I have to squeeze in a deer and antelope hunt in Montana starting this

Thursday for a couple of weeks, Woohoo.biggun.gif

Let me know if/when you can do some trips to the lodge, etc.

dang! Well I am either hitting the lodge next week or going to juneau for a deer hunt with a buddy.. I am thinking that Montana is a much better place to hunt. I miss the white tail hunting down south!
