After a brown Christmas we're finally getting some much needed SNOW!!! Thats one of the few four letter words I can shout in front of my wife without getting slapped. ;)

I've been waiting for snow so I can finally put the wheel skis on and go have some fun on the lakes and fields. Here's where I need your help. Being a noob to ski flying, the first thing is it too make sure i get them rigged on the plane properly.

Anyone up for posting some do's and don'ts for me? A few pictures would also be awesome.

Thanks guys!!

Ski rigging is not an exact science.

I rigged mine this way:

  1. Set the plane 2-5° nose down from level. This is your setting for the rear limit cables.
  2. Maintaining this attitude, set your crust cutter cables so that you have some tension on your bungees/springs. This will vary depending on the strength of the bungee/spring you are using.
  3. With the plane at three point shim the tails of the skis so that they are ~5° down. This is the length of the front limit cables.

Done.

Others may do it differently, but this is how I rigged mine.
